Move Out

The Challenge:

  • Move 130 staff to sublease for one year
  • 65% of staff moving from private offices to workstations
  • Decentralized kitchens and supply rooms for 10 departments

The Solution:

  • Inventoried all furniture and documented it
  • Selected the best from inventory for retention for 45 offices
  • Developed the plan for relocation and conducted move instruction meeting with department heads

The Summary:

  • Completed moves over 5 days in groups that the college’s IT staff could manage
  • Produced color coded plans to/from plans for each phase
  • Provided oversight for move

 

Move Back

The Challenge:

  • Move 158 employees from their downtown temporary office back to the Fall Creek campus
  • All of 12 employees moving into an open collaborative workstation environment
  • 40 employees accustomed to offices would move into workstations

The Solution:

  • Design furniture for 40 offices to go 1 of 3 locations: campus offices, warehouse storage, or to be delivered to another region
  • Label furniture accordingly
  • Plan move phases and coordinated with Ivy Tech’s IT group to manage desktop connections for each phase

The Summary:

  • Warehouse manager knew what was coming and was able to manage it better with the information we provided
  • Staff could stay focused on their daily tasks and trust that we coordinated everything
  • Turning over space at end of lease was easier with our help to clean out all of the excess furnishings
